GENERAL ENGINEER (CUTTING/MACHINING)

 

The Next Stage have an opening for an Engineer to help with the preparation of materials.

The Next Stage build custom fabricated products for a wide variety of clients and sectors. Some of their work includes products for live events, furniture and gates.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Use of industrial high-speed mitre saw to cut aluminium sections and CNC milling machine.

• The accurate setting, cutting and identification of materials maximising stock utilisation and minimising any scrap or damage to both customer products and stock.

• Must be self-motivated, reliant, diligent, analytical and numerate.

• Ability to read and understand a job sheet to maximise stock utilisation and minimise waste.

• Programming knowledge for machine set-up, preparation and cutting preferred.

• Maintain and promote safe working practices and policies whilst engaged in your daily role.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION / SKILLS

 

• Able to read engineering drawings

• Use of hand tools

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work within a small team

• Must have an understanding of working with various metals

• Must be able to operate machinery safely and effectively

 

SALARY:

Dependant on experience

 

Working days

7:30 to 16:30 Monday – Thursday

7:30 to 13:00 Friday

- with overtime when required.
